The contest period runs for 5 weeks from July 24, 2006 to August 25, 2006. Two winners will be randomly chosen each week among those who are the first to fly “The Spirit of Sioux Lookout.”

This contest celebrates the introduction of our newest 19 passenger Fairchild Metroliner. “The Spirit of Sioux Lookout” is sporting a new paint scheme and is the first livery change since 1988 when the now familiar burgundy & orange stripe over a moondust fuselage was adopted.

If you are a regular customer, you’ll note the difference immediately. The tail features three Bear paw prints, representing the tracks the airline has made throughout Northern Ontario and Manitoba since it’s birth in Bearskin Lake in 1963. This design retains the tradition and 43-year history of Bearskin Airlines while capturing the new spirit of the airline in today's marketplace.

Rules & Regulations

1. The Be First & Fly Free Contest is open to all individuals who have attained 18 years of age; except employees of Bearskin Airlines, individuals travelling on industry discount tickets and individuals travelling on non-revenue tickets.

2. The contest runs for 5 weeks and commences with Bearskin Airlines’ first flight utilizing The Spirit of Sioux Lookout on July 24, 2006 and closes after Bearskin Airlines’ final flight of the day on August 25, 2006.

3. The Spirit of Sioux Lookout will be scheduled and operate through all Bearskin Airlines’ destinations at least once (except Lynn Lake) during the contest period.

4. Two (2) winners will be randomly selected each week for a period of five (5) weeks. Ten (10) winners will be chosen in all.

5. Two (2) Bearskin Airlines Flight numbers operated by The Spirit of Sioux Lookout will be randomly selected each week and all passengers who check-in for said flights at each station served will receive a ballot at check-in time. Passengers will fill in name, address, telephone, email address, and return ballot to Bearskin Airlines ticket agent. Draw(s) will take place the following day and winner will be promptly notified by phone or email and posted to Bearskin Airlines web site. Winner will receive follow-up confirmation by mail.

6. In the event “The Spirit of Sioux Lookout” does not operate due to any reason, the contest eligibility period will be extended until 10 winners have been selected.

7. Each winner will receive the following prize: One Free Weekend Getaway Flight from the closest city of the winner’s residence to any destination served by Bearskin Airlines at the time of travel, according to space availability in “Q” type inventory.

8. Winners must make their reservation at least 14 days in advance by contacting the special designated Bearskin Airlines representative whose name will be communicated by Bearskin Airlines. Reservations are subject to availability in “Q” class inventory at the time of booking. “Q” class is sub-class of Economy class and the number of seats available in this class is restricted by flight number. This means that seats may not be available for redemption of the prize although there are still seats available on the aircraft. If this is the case, winner will have to select another flight number on travel date or another travel date. In any event, once ticket is issued, winner’s seat will be confirmed.

9. Winner will be responsible for any government and/or airport taxes & fees that are imposed on Bearskin Airlines not limited to but including airport improvement fees (AIF), security fees and/or other fees.

10. Travel must be redeemed within 12 months. Travel cannot be extended or postponed to a later year.

11. Winners will be notified in writing of the arrangements for receiving & redeeming prize.

12. Winners’ names will be published in the fall 2006 issue of Bear Country Magazine.

13. Bearskin Airlines reserves the right to publish and/or broadcast without compensation, the names, and addresses of prize winners.

14. Prizes must be accepted as awarded without substitution. Prizes are not transferable, cannot be redeemed for cash and cannot be sold, bartered or exchanged.

15. In order to claim the prize, winners will be required to sign a declaration stating that he/she has read and understood the rules and regulations, and accepts the prize as awarded.
