SwiftJet has just emerged to introduce a new breed of affordable executive chartered travel with the acquisition of up to 15 Diamond D-JETs, from Diamond Aircraft. The D-JET is a high-performance luxury, personal aircraft that will enable SwiftJet to offer charter fares comparable to business class tickets, and is unlike any other offering in the Canadian corporate jet travel market today.
According to a recent article by Investor's Business Daily, private aviation is the only choice for executives looking for fast, business class travel and an emerging trend that's going to increase in 2009 and 2010 as executives try to escape current frustrations with commercial airlines. With the purchase of all 15 aircrafts, SwiftJet will become the largest operator of D-JETs in Canada and the first executive charter launch customer in Canada to take delivery of a D-JET, an aircraft designed and built in Canada.
"SwiftJet will re-define chartered travel and turn it into a hassle-free, low cost, private class option that's not just for the wealthy, but for anyone who demands efficiency," said Bassam Al-Sarraj, President of SwiftJet and a commercial pilot with 14 years of experience. "Travelers will have the flexibility to travel when and where they want, saving the expense of indirect flights and free from delays caused by cancellations and long line-ups at customs. Delays not only cause frustrations but dollars in lost productivity and time."
The D-JET's aerodynamic design and superior fuel efficiency make it more economical to operate; resulting in exceptional cost savings for two or more passengers. The stylish jet seats two comfortably and can also accommodate a third passenger in a cabin with large windows and leg room much greater than that of an Audi A8. Passengers don't need to worry about baggage restrictions because the jet has three large baggage areas allowing for several full-sized golf bags, skis, and full-sized luggage.
"The D-JET can land and take off from many small landing strips in Canada. It's the ideal solution for a small to mid-sized businesses looking to expand their markets outside the traditional airline air corridors," said Al-Sarraj. "For example, the Peterborough to Windsor corridor could take less than one hour from the time the passengers step on the plane until they get off. Considering that the drive to Windsor would take 5.5 hrs not including traffic, flying on D-JET makes good business sense."
The D-JET will be manufactured at Diamond Aircraft's London, Ontario facility, with initial deliveries to SwiftJet planned for 2010.
"We designed the D-JET to be the most desirable and attainable personal jet, so more people can afford to enjoy the benefits of private jet travel," said Peter Maurer, President of Diamond Aircraft. "From owner-pilots to commercial operators, a large and growing number of customers are embracing the D-JET as we progress toward certification next year. This new kind of aircraft enables new kinds of innovative business models, and we are delighted SwiftJet has chosen the D-JET for its fleet."
SwiftJet is Canada's newest on-demand airline that flies anywhere and anytime to destinations around the world. More information can be found at www.swiftjet.com.
