IMP Aerospace Components of Amherst, Nova Scotia, a division of IMP Group International Inc., has been awarded a contract that has a potential value of $ 49 million. The six-year contract will see approximately 30 new jobs created in Amherst to manufacture various structural components and assemblies for Boeing's Chinook Heavy Lift Helicopter.

"IMP has been a strategic supplier to Boeing for over 20 years, supplying manufactured parts for all of the Boeing fleet of commercial aircraft. We even operate a fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft in our CanJet Airlines division," said Dave Pearson, Vice President and General Manager of IMP Aerospace Components. "This award demonstrates that IMP and Nova Scotia aerospace companies can compete globally for contracts such as this one," Pearson further stated.

Earlier this year, the Canadian government issued a request for proposal to Boeing for the purchase and in-service support for Chinook helicopters.

IMP Group International Inc. is focused on global sustainable growth, with 3,500 experienced people delivering service, quality and value to customers across diverse sectors, such as aerospace, aviation, airline, healthcare, industrial marine, information technology, hospitality and property development. For the last six years, IMP Group has been selected as one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies.
