NAV CANADA Transmitted by CNW Group on : September 10, 2009 10:00 NAV CANADA reports July traffic figures NAV CANADA today announced its traffic figures for July 2009, as measured in weighted charging units for en-route, terminal and oceanic air navigation services, in comparison to the same month in 2008.

The traffic in July 2009 decreased by an average of 6.0 per cent compared to the same month in 2008. The actual year-to-date traffic decline as of July 31st is 6.0 per cent, or 5.7 per cent on a normalized basis given that February 2009 had one less day than February 2008 due to the leap year. The NAV CANADA fiscal year runs from September 1 to August 31.

Weighted charging units represent a traffic measure that reflects the number of flights, aircraft size and distance flown in Canadian airspace.

These traffic figures are also available in graph form on NAV CANADA's web site at www.navcanada.ca.

NAV CANADA, the country's civil air navigation services provider, is a private sector, non-share capital corporation financed through publicly-traded debt. With operations coast to coast, NAV CANADA provides air traffic control, flight information, weather briefings, aeronautical information services, airport advisory services and electronic aids to navigation.
