It was an unexpected stop for 165 British Airways passengers and crew on their way to the Bahamas. The 767 was forced to make an emergency landing at Gander after the pilot detected smoke in the cabin. Gander International Airport spokesperson Brian Hicks says the plane landed safely and the passengers and crew were taken off the aircraft. Hicks says the issue was quickly resolved and the passengers were off again to warmer climes within an hour or so.
