December 17th is the 70th Anniversary of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, the largest training plan in Canadian history.
The Alberta Aviation Museum is taking this very special anniversary to unveil its latest exhibit, dedicated to the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. (BCATP) The exhibit itself is unique combining convention exhibit material with digital images and computer interactives allowing a historical presentation you can see, touch, wear and fly (simulator technology). Professor Rod Macleod, President of the Edmonton Aviation Heritage Society will be present to say a few words about the BCATP and the exhibit. MLA Doug Elniski will be joining us to cut the cake for this 70th Anniversary celebration. The Alberta Aviation Museum will be using this opportunity to introduce its 2010 BCATP events and announce the "Spirit of Edmonton" Tour for 2010. Please take the time to join us for this very special opportunity to catch a piece of history, a chance for you to try to fly aircraft that actually flew out of Edmonton during the BCATP, as well as cake and coffee.
