PASSENGERS REFUSE TO BOARD
Written by Wendy Burns, Aviation.ca

In a strange twist to normal flight delays experienced by passengers the world over it was the cabin crew that was kept waiting on a flight from Vancouver to Montreal.

Air Canada President Calin Rovinescu told a Vancouver business gathering that one of his company's scheduled flights sat on the tarmac as passengers finished watching the men's gold medal match between Canada and the USA.

In such a nail biting game it was impossible for the crew to persuade the passengers to board their flight, passengers remained in the departure lounge watching the game on the big screens.

Meanwhile passengers already in the air were given regular game updates by flight crew who were receiving real time updates from operations control.

But of course after Canada won the gold it was very happy passengers who finally boarded their plane and continued their journeys.
