Edmonton International Airport (EIA) demonstrated the training that snow and ice removal teams take annually to ensure continuous, safe operations in Winter.  EIA was awarded the coveted Balchen/Post Award for excellence in snow and ice control at the 46th Annual International Aviation Snow Symposium (IASS) on April 18th, 2012 in Buffalo, NY.

From January through the end of September 2012, Munich Airport handled more passengers than ever before in the first three quarters of a calendar year. The approximately 29.2 million arriving and departing passengers represented an increase of more than 2 percent as compared with the same period a year earlier. At the same time, the average aircraft load factor rose to a new record of 75 percent, which represents a year-on-year improvement of 1.3 percentage points. That means that, on average, three quarters of all seats in planes arriving in or departing from Munich are booked. The 302,000 aircraft movements counted during the first three quarters of this year was 2.7 percent lower than the figure for the first nine months of 2011.

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) announced today during the 18th World Route Development Forum in Abu Dhabi that it is finalizing its preparations to welcome Alitalia, the national airline of Italy, with its direct flights between ADAC’s Abu Dhabi International Airport and Rome International Airport on 1st December. Alitalia will operate four flights a week through a codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, on an A330 aircraft with a seating capacity of 230 passengers.
