Alaska Air Group paid annual bonuses totaling nearly a month's pay today to nearly 13,000 employees for exceeding the company's 2012 operational and financial goals. The bonus of about 8 percent of annual pay is in addition to the $1,100 in bonuses, on average, that each employee earned last year for achieving monthly on-time and customer satisfaction targets. The combined monthly and annual bonuses amounted to nearly $88 million.
Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air, which announced a restructuring strategy last December, spearheaded jointly by the airline’s Board of Directors led by its Chairman H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister and the airline’s management, recorded restructuring progress within a month of its on-going implementation. Despite a difficult operating environment, the restructuring measures have started yielding results and the strategy remains on track to achieve overall cost savings of 24% by the end of 2013.
Dubai International has begun 2013 in top gear, setting yet another monthly record by welcoming, for the first time, more than 5.5 million passengers in a single month.

Swissport International Ltd. (Swissport), the world’s leading provider of ground and cargo services to the aviation industry, is reporting total revenue of CHF 1.9 billion for the year 2012. This represents a 10% increase in revenue compared to 2011 which is reinforcing the market leading position of the company. The results are including the impact of the acquisition of the former Flightcare operations in Spain and Belgium (excluding the Flightcare business the 2012 revenue increase results in 6%).

Rockwell Collins today announced that Greg Churchill, executive vice president, International and Service Solutions, will retire at the end of March after more than 30 years of service with the company. Colin Mahoney will succeed Churchill as senior vice president, International and Service Solutions, effective immediately.
