Porter Airlines releases January statistics

Porter Airlines completed January with a traffic increase of 0.8 per cent, representing passenger growth of 1.2 per cent for the month. Capacity grew by 4.7 per cent, which resulted in a load factor of 53.6%, a decline of 2.1 points from last year.

WestJet today announced January 2013 traffic results with a record load factor of 80.9 per cent. Revenue passenger miles (RPMs), or traffic, increased 7.7 per cent year over year, and capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASMs), grew 6.4 per cent over the same period. The airline flew 1.5 million guests in January, a year-over-year increase of 6.4 per cent or approximately 87,500 additional guests.

Fourth quarter passenger traffic at Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport increased by 1.64% over the same period last year.

easyJet announces Board change

The Board of easyJet announces that Sir Mike Rake has informed the Board of his intention to step down as a non-executive director and as Chairman of easyJet plc in Summer 2013.

Boeing has appointed Elena Alexandrova as Communications director for Russia/CIS succeeding Dmitry Krol who has joined Boeing Commercial Airplanes Communications in Seattle. Alexandrova will be responsible for the company’s communications strategy and partnerships with suppliers and customers to support the company’s business objectives in Russia.

Eurocopter delivered another very strong performance in 2012, with an all-time record turnover of 6.3 billion euros. The company’s second high record in bookings value marks a return to pre-crisis levels. This places Eurocopter in a strong position to benefit from its broad helicopter portfolio evolution, along with the expansion in services and a growing global footprint.

ATR: delivery and turnover records in 2012

In 2012 ATR recorded its highest turnover, 1.44 billion dollars. The turboprop aircraft manufacturer also achieved a record annual delivery level of 64 aircraft, an increase of 18% over 2011 deliveries.
