Alaska Air Group Inc. (NYSE: ALK) today reported January operational results for its mainline and consolidated operations. Detailed information is provided below.
Porter Airlines completed January with a traffic increase of 0.8 per cent, representing passenger growth of 1.2 per cent for the month. Capacity grew by 4.7 per cent, which resulted in a load factor of 53.6%, a decline of 2.1 points from last year.
WestJet today announced January 2013 traffic results with a record load factor of 80.9 per cent. Revenue passenger miles (RPMs), or traffic, increased 7.7 per cent year over year, and capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASMs), grew 6.4 per cent over the same period. The airline flew 1.5 million guests in January, a year-over-year increase of 6.4 per cent or approximately 87,500 additional guests.
Fourth quarter passenger traffic at Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport increased by 1.64% over the same period last year.

Boeing has appointed Elena Alexandrova as Communications director for Russia/CIS succeeding Dmitry Krol who has joined Boeing Commercial Airplanes Communications in Seattle.
