Results from the world’s first civil flight powered by 100 percent biofuel released by the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) show that the biofuel used in the flight last October is cleaner than and as efficient as conventional aviation fuel.

The National Research Council of Canada (NRC) achieved a major milestone for the aviation industry yesterday as it flew the first civil jet powered by 100 percent unblended biofuel. This historic flight symbolizes a significant step not only for the aerospace industry, but also towards advancing sustainable sources of renewable energy.
