Iberia has announced details of its new commercial and routes policies under the Transformation Plan it announced recently. The plan is intended to restore profitability to the airline, which racked up operating losses of 262 million euros in the first nine months of 2012, and thus to ensure its future viability.

Ryanair, Europe’s only ultra-low cost airline, has confirmed deep cuts to its flights at Madrid and Barcelona and across its Spanish operations in 2013 in response to the Spanish Govt doubling of airport taxes at both Madrid and Barcelona El Prat airports on 1 July 2012.

Ryanair, Europe’s only ultra-low cost airline, today (8 Nov) welcomed the Commercial Court of Madrid’s ruling in favour of Ryanair’s online check-in and boarding card policy, which the Court said expedited the boarding process and saved passengers time. A Spanish passenger had claimed they were unable to check-in online as their credit card was no longer valid and incurred a boarding card reissue fee after failing to print their boarding card.

His Majesty Juan Carlos I, King of Spain, took off this morning from the Cuatro Vientos Air Base in Madrid for a flight in the Spanish variant of the cutting-edge NH90 helicopter, which is being fitted out and tested at the company's facility in Albacete. The first deliveries of this aircraft to the Spanish Army Airmobile Force (FAMET) are scheduled for next year.
