WestJet today announced February 2013 traffic results with a record load factor of 86.1 per cent. Revenue passenger miles (RPMs), or traffic, increased 7.3 per cent year over year, and capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASMs), grew 3.1 per cent over the same period. The airline flew 1.4 million guests in February, a year-over-year increase of 5.5 per cent or approximately 74,300 additional guests.

WestJet today announced the launch of new non-stop service between Toronto and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and between Calgary and Dallas, Texas, beginning this spring. Flights on both routes will be operated using the airline's fleet of Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft.

WestJet (TSX: WJA) today announced its fourth quarter and year-end results for 2012. The airline reported fourth quarter net earnings of $60.9 million, or $0.46 per share and full-year net earnings of $242.4 million, or $1.78 per share; up significantly from the net earnings of $148.7 million, or $1.06 per share, reported for 2011.
