The Canadian Aerospace Industry welcomes the commitment made today by Prime Minister Stephen Harper to increase the Strategic Aerospace and Defence Initiative by 200 millions $ over four years.

"A strong innovation champion, the aerospace industry is undoubtedly one of Canada's manufacturing sectors success stories and significant contributor to the economies of communities across our nation.

It however faces steep challenges all of which have to be addressed in an effective and comprehensive way if we are to maintain our world leadership. We are delighted that the Conservative Party of Canada has decided to address one of the industry's main concerns in its political platform" said Dr Claude Lajeunesse, President and CEO of AIAC.
