Embraer Defense and Security and its affiliate AEL Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of the Israeli company Elbit Systems Ltd., announce the entrance of Avibras Air and Naval Division, Inc., in the capital structure of Harpia Systems, Inc., so as to jointly develop the market for unmanned aircraft systems in Brazil. As a result, Avibras will hold a 9% stake of the company, whereas AEL Systems will hold 40%. Embraer Defense and Security will remain the majority shareholder, with 51%.

Bombardier Aerospace announced today that it has received full certification for its Global 6000 jet from the Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil in Brazil.

Embraer S.A. and AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, today announced that they have signed a memorandum of understanding aiming at establishing a joint-venture which could lead to the production of AgustaWestland helicopters in Brazil to be marketed for both commercial and military use in Brazil and Latin America.

Embraer S.A. has received FINEP´s Innovation Award 2012, the most prestigious recognition by the leading Brazilian innovation agency. Embraer´s CEO Frederico Fleury Curado received the award in a ceremony with President Dilma Rousseff in Brasilia.

During the inauguration of the new production facility in Minas Gerais, Eurocopter’s Helibras subsidiary signed yesterday a contract with Brazil’s InbraAerospace to supply composite armor protection on the Brazilian armed forces’ multi-role EC725 helicopters to be assembled in the new plant.
