The locally-owned company specializes in freight forwarding and project logistics and is one of the fastest-growing freight forwarding companies in Canada with 28 per cent growth in 2012.

Swissport International Ltd., the world’s leading provider of ground services to the aviation sector, has been voted the best cargo handler in Africa for the second time in a row by readers of The STAT Trade Times Magazine. The award was presented on 21st February at a Gala Award night during the Air Cargo Africa 2013 conference and exhibition in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released global air freight demand statistics for January 2013 showing a stabilization of air freight markets on the back of encouraging growth towards the end of 2012. Compared to the previous year, demand for air freight was apparently very strong, with a rise of 5.0%.
Alaska Airlines' Betsy Bacon has been named managing director of Alaska Air Cargo. Bacon, an eight-year veteran of the airline, previously served as director of cargo operations and compliance, where she was responsible for the airline's network of cargo centers and customer locations. Prior to that, she was regional cargo sales manager for the Pacific Northwest, representing both Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air.
Dubai Airports today announced traffic statistics for Dubai World Central that showed the airport handled 219,092 tonnes of air freight during its second full calendar year of operations, an increase of 144 per cent over 2011.
